Moments That Stay
Manuel began photographing as a way to explore the world. Over time,
the camera became less about travel and more about attention.
Across more than 40 countries, he has
photographed people and places with quiet curiosity. He is drawn to the
in-between moments, such as a gesture, a glance, or the way light settles on a face. His
work does not seek spectacle, but presence.
Photography, for him, is a practice of noticing and slowing down. Of standing close enough to understand, yet far enough to
respect the space of others. Most of his images emerge from natural
environments, shaped by patience rather than direction.
Based in Germany and a father of two, his
perspective has grown more reflective over the years. Family life has deepened
his sensitivity to fleeting moments; the ordinary scenes that, with time,
become the ones we value most.
This website is a personal space to share
those observations: fragments of places, encounters, and quiet stories
gathered along the way.
His images have been published in travel
magazines and local newspapers.
On Seeing
“Photography is an act of observation. It has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them.”
— Elliott Erwitt
On Patience
“There is nothing worse than a sharp image of a fuzzy concept.”
— Ansel Adams
On Presence
“The best thing about a picture is that it never changes, even when the people in it do.”
— Andy Warhol
